TEACHING METHOD

We have based our teaching on the latest neuroscience studies, according to which “the greater the activation of sensory and cognitive parts, the greater the memory”.

We encourage students to use Italian as their language of communication, boosting all skills, through techniques for developing linguistic processes in situational, cultural and playful lessons in real-life contexts.

Target

We believe that a good mix in our classes can boost students’ learning, not only linguistically but also culturally.

The exchange between people of different ages and backgrounds encourages doubts and questions, and having different skills allows them to help each other, stimulating conversation and creating an ever-changing environment.

This is why our courses are aimed at adults of all ages, backgrounds and levels, whose goal is to learn Italian.

This course is for you if you are busy during the day or prefer a brisk but cadenced pace.

Frequency

Course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:45pm to 8:25pm (2 x 50-minute lessons)

Teaching quality is very important to us, as is putting each individual student at the centre of the training, which is why our classes have a limited number of participants.
Classes are formed by our pool of experts, who assess each student in their entirety, not only according to their entrance test, but also according to their goals, progress and needs. The course provides lessons tailored to the actual level of the class, with differentiated teaching that is attentive to the needs of the individual, with the aim of enhancing everyone’s skills.

The Evening course is offered for all levels (from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced) and enables all levels of language competence of the Common European Framework: A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2.

HOW TO REGISTER

ENTRANCE TEST

Regarding the enrolment level, we prefer to personally assess your knowledge rather than offer you a standard solution.
For this reason, we ask you to take an entrance test that helps us to understand not only your level of knowledge but also your degree of understanding/familiarity with the language.
This information will then be analysed by our pool of teachers, who will then identify the best class for your knowledge and goals.

The entrance test is divided into two parts:

(a) First written component

The written test allows for verification of:

  • the level of written comprehension (which may not correspond to the level of knowledge of grammatical structures, or to the competency in writing);
  • The level of knowledge of grammatical structures;
  • The skill level in written production.

(b) Second oral component

The interview, which takes place after the written test, aims at a global evaluation of the candidate.

Determined throughout the interview is:

  • the data resulting from the written test;
  • an evaluation of oral comprehension and production;
  • a verification of the applicant’s current understanding of language skills;
  • a determination of the candidate’s objectives.
  • The application form must be fully filled out and returned at least 1 month before the course starts; 2 months in advance for students inhabiting in overseas and who need a student visa to enter Switzerland; Any time if the foreign student is already present in Switzerland and whom the law permits (in specific cases) to request his staying permit in our country or to convert his current permit to study permit “L” (in case of delay, please contact the School).
  • Payment in advance is requested for the whole period of studies. A copy of the effected payment of the invoiced amount must be handed in to the school or transmitted by electronic means.
  • The student receives a confirmation of the enrolment or, in the case of a requested student visa, the necessary documents when the payment has been made.
  • There will be no refund for absences due to personal reasons such as holiday, illness or the impossibility to reach the school, as for instance bad weather or other.
